Wicked Problems

Gutgestalten is our philosophy, merging aesthetic excellence with functional clarity in graphic design. This year’s Masterclass in Graphic Design focused on Wicked Problems – complex challenges without simple solutions, spanning societal, economic, and environmental issues. Each student created a standalone magazine addressing a specific challenge faced by Generation Z, such as climate change, environmental protection, and social issues. These magazines feature individually crafted covers and graphic elements, tackling their wicked problems comprehensively while visually engaging readers. They exemplify the Gutgestalten philosophy, making a lasting impact through a blend of aesthetic excellence and functional clarity.

The magazine is designed to be both informative and visually compelling. The cover features vibrant colors and dynamic typography to grab attention. Inside, the articles are laid out clearly, with each piece exploring different aspects of climate change, from impacts to solutions. Illustrations and infographics simplify complex information, making it accessible and engaging. The design process involved thorough research and creative exploration, ensuring every element effectively communicated the urgency of climate change, in line with the Gutgestalten philosophy.
